Panch Ganga Temple
Panch Ganga temple is an ancient shrine that was built in the 13th century by Singhaneo, a Yadava king. This monument of black stone is at the five rivers confluence. The five rivers are River Gayatri, River Krishna, River Gayatri, River Veena and River Savitri. This temple is revered by most of the Hindu deities. The structure is robust and thus has stood the test of time.
Of both the tanks here, one of these can collect water from all the five rivers from a ‘spout’ that is located in the stone cow’s mouth. This is known as Gaumukhi. This water is considered to be holy and is used for most of the auspicious occasions. This water is also consumed as ‘Parshad’.
The River Krishna flows through a hall where you find Lord Vishnu’s idol. You find tourists visiting this temple throughout the year.

Elephantone Point
Elephinstone Point is known to be the ‘highest’ viewpoint of Mahableshwar. This was discovered by Dr. Murray in the year 1830. This is around 3.21 kms away from the Arthur’s Seat. You get an unobstructed view of Koyna Valley, Pratapgadh Fort and also the lush and green surroundings.
This Point is almost 2500 feet above the Koyna Valley and the River Savitri originates here. This point is named after the Governor of Bombay Presidency, Dr. Murray Elephinstone. You can spend your day here enjoying the natural beauty and serenity of Mahableshwar.

Pratapgarh Fort
This Pratapgarh Fort is considered to be a historical spot in Maharashtra. This is situated on the top of a hill in the district of Satara. This fort is built around 3500 ft above the ground. Shivaji Maharaj commissioned this fort in the year 1650, but the construction was done only in 1656. This Fort has a watchtower, four lakes, a Bhawani temple and also a cultural library.
It is known that this fort has played an important role helping the flourishing of the Maratha Empire. The name ‘Pratapgarh’ translates to ‘Valor’. Shivaji Maharaj’s statue of height 17 feet was installed in the year 1957. This was in honor of the brave king. Originally named as the ‘Sindola Hill’ this point changed the name to Wilson Point as a dedication to Sir Leslie Wilson. He was the Mumbai governor from the year 1923 to the year 1926.
Wilson Point is known to be the solo viewpoint from where you can watch the sunset and the sunrise. The observation decks in the three towers present here offer a breathless view of the city. You have a choice of either driving to this point or go hiking.

Dhobi Waterfall
This Dhobi Waterfall is considered to be a ‘prized’ jewel of Mahableshwar. This is at a distance of 3kms from the city. This is along the old Mahableshwar road and the Petit Road. This connects Elephinstone Point and the Lodwick Point. The setting of this waterfall is between rocks and a lot of greenery, making it a ‘must’ visit.

Mount Olympia, also known as the Connaught Peak, is considered to be the 2nd highest peak in Mahableshwar. The name was changed to Connaught Peak as the Duke of Connaught visited this place. This is on the old Mahableshwar Road at 1400 feet above sea level. This spot offers you a good view of the surroundings, including Pasarani, Pratapgarh Fort, Krishna Valley and Venna Lake.

Rajpur Caves are found near Panchgani in the district of Satara. These caves are important for Hindus. As the legend goes, Lord Karthikeya, son of Lord Shiva, had performed different religious rituals and offered penance in these caves. During exile, the Pandavas had also spent time here.
